1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small values stored by a browser and sent with later requests. Local storage keeps preferences in the browser without automatically sending them with each request. This policy covers both technologies and similar identifiers used on OpenSpeaker.
2. Necessary storage
These values support an explicit choice or core operation and do not require optional analytics consent where applicable law permits:
- i18nextLng in local storage remembers whether you selected English or Vietnamese.
- openspeaker_cookie_consent in local storage remembers “analytics accepted” or “necessary only” so the banner does not repeatedly ask.
- Authentication, security and transaction storage used inside the application may be necessary to keep you signed in, prevent abuse or complete a requested purchase.
3. Optional Firebase Analytics
When you choose “Allow analytics”, OpenSpeaker loads Google Analytics for Firebase measurement stream G-KFVYHLJBNT. It measures page paths, sessions, approximate region, browser/device information and interaction events so we can understand and improve the website.
Google Analytics 4 normally uses the first-party cookie _ga to distinguish users and _ga_<container-id> to maintain session state. Google documents a default expiry of two years, although browser limits and our configuration may shorten it. OpenSpeaker does not currently use advertising cookies on this landing site.
4. Your choices
On your first visit, “Allow analytics” and “Necessary only” are presented as separate choices. Optional analytics does not load until acceptance. Rejecting analytics does not block core site or app features.
You can reopen Cookie preferences from the footer at any time. Changing to necessary only disables future measurement and removes the known OpenSpeaker Google Analytics cookies where the browser permits it. Browser settings can also remove cookies and local storage.
The current landing implementation uses analytics measurement only. If advertising, remarketing or new vendors are added later, this policy and the consent choices must be updated first.
